| Summer Novena for Sacred Heart School and Pre- School A novena is derived from the Latin "novem", meaning nine. A novena is a nine-day (hour, week, month, etc.) period of private or public prayer to obtain special graces, to implore special favors, or to make special petitions. Please offer the prayers of this novena throughout the summer in your home. Efficacious Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus I. O my Jesus, you have said: "Truly I say to you, ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you." Behold I knock, I seek and ask for all the graces needed for our mission of Catholic Education, that more children will have the opportunity to learn and grow as members of our Sacred Heart School family. Our Father....Hail Mary.... Glory Be to the Father.... Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you. II. O my Jesus, you have said: "Truly I say to you, if you ask anything of the Father in my name, he will give it to you." Behold, in your name, I ask the Father for all the graces needed f or our mission of Catholic Education, that we will have the financial resources to grow our endowments, facilities and programs to benefit all Sacred Heart families. Our Father....Hail Mary.... Glory Be to the Father.... Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you. III. O my Jesus, you have said: "Truly I say to you, heaven and earth will pass away but my words will not pass away." Encouraged by your infallible words I now ask for all the graces needed for our mission of Catholic Education, that we might serve our parish and community and evangelize our world through the living and active witness of our faith. O Sacred Heart of Jesus, for whom it is impossible not to have compassion on the afflicted, have pity on us miserable sinners and grant us these graces which we ask of you, through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, your tender Mother and ours. Say the Hail, Holy Queen and add: “St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus, pray for us.” Amen. -- St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Our Summer Novena will also include nine consecutive weeks of celebrating Holy Mass together to pray for Sacred Heart School and Preschool. Following each mass, you are invited to recite the novena with us and to stay and spend some time with Jesus in the Adoration Chapel. If you are unable to come at this hour, Adoration does continues all day on Thursday until Friday morning at 8:00 am. Your family is welcome to come for a few minutes when it is most convenient. The nine (Thursday) dates are as follows: June 07 June 14 June 21 June 28 July 05 July 12 July 19 July 26 August 2 If mass is not scheduled for any of these dates, we will just meet in the Adoration Chapel at 9:00 am.
